This bird was the frosting on the cake, after a great time birding at the AOS meeting at Guntersville. Friday, I was able to get photos of the Western Grebe on the way over to the meeting. On Saturday, Steve McConnell and I found and were treated to great looks at 2 Pacific Loons as they had a territorial dispute and went after each other, bill to bill, necks arched and wings flapping. We also were able to photograh the most cooperative Red-throated Loon either of us had every seen. On Sunday, we found at least 4 Cackling Geese at Wheeler NWR for a list of 21 waterfowl species seen over the weekend. I added 4 species to my Alabama list and enjoyed time with old aquintances and met some great birders from Georgia at the joint meeting.
