it's one of the sharpest and lightest kit lenses on the market. I would recommend it over 18-70 and 18-135 models.

I actually find this lens quite good. Very sharp at close proximaties. Makes for a good beginners lens. Anything that is 55mm and below in my gallery was taken with this lens. absolutely BASIC lens, very poor quality of an images and ... this lens is just for the beginners of photography. I would bet that nobody want to stay with this one longer then 3-6 mths. It's obvious that even 18-70 Nikkor is much much better then this one and have to be a quick replacement of this poor 18-55 baby :)
