Beau got sick and stopped eating while I was gone last weekend.
I had him in to see the vet yesterday and got some of the test results today.
Things could always be worse, but you never want to hear "it's a matter of time".
He has moved into the beginning stages of kidney disease, according to the tests.
After all we've been through in the past couple of years this was particularly hard to hear, as it's what I actually lost my last cat to.
At least we've caught this early, and it can be controlled to an extent. The diabetes isn't going to help matters, though.
He's eating again, but now his diabetes is not under control -- partly because he only weighs about 7 pounds now.
We made an abrupt change to his diet; the food he has been eating to help control the diabetes is the exact opposite of what he needs to deal with the new challenge with his kidneys.
Well, of course.
It couldn't be easy now, could it?
