A New Morning
Day 269

This one is for Petesie -- I've always admired her Sunrises
especially as I see so few of them myself.
(I didn't do the greatest job on this one, but consider its worth to be akin to the potato chip that looks like Richard Nixon: not very pretty
to look at, but 'valuable' for its rarity. Who knows when I'll catch the sunrise again?)

One of the nice things about winter is how late the sun rises -- it makes the beauty accessible even to night owls!

The sun was really a neon red; my camera insists that is not a color and refuses to record it.
The color you see shimmering at the edges was really over the whole surface of the sun.
???
Ah, well.

I used the PS option 'equalize' on the shot below:

Carmen, I am SO glad you have taken it upon yourself to get up for these kinds of shots. (I'm usually an hour or 2 behind schedule, lol!) Do it again, and soon. This is really beautiful.

Beautifully captured, Carmen.

Great capture. The bird flying by is a nice touch.

Love the shot -- the position of the bird and the sun and the darkness of the sky behind...

Wow, thank you, Carmen. Can you come sometime and get a bird to stop for me. This truly is beautifully composed, and glad you are seeing the sunrise! I haven't seen the sun in several days, and they say we won't for a few more.

Great balls of fire seem appropriate words here.!!

Yep. I pointed my finger at it and said "Freeze!" 'Course it fell out of the sky as soon as I had taken the picure, so I feel bad about that...
I was going to dedicate this one to Petesie (sorry it's not that great), but I seem to be locked out of editing things right now (darn parental controls). So...I'll add it to the blurb above when I can.

It looks like the trees are holding the sun up for you to see.. very nicely balanced. Great that a bird flew into this shot (or did you make him stop in mid-flight?)

Beautiful!

Nice and you even caught a bird in the shot.
